Returns Delayed by virus pandemic

Hi all
Looking for advice. I ordered flooring from an online store on March 7th with a 14 day return policy. Work on the room in question was delayed by Corona and now that we are progressing the flooring is unsuitable. The 14 day return policy has expired but it only took this long due to the national situation. The store is refusing to accept a return. I'm asking them to reconsider. If they don't agree, what are my rights in this extra ordinary situation?
Cheers

None, really. There's no general principle that the pandemic leads to such time limits being extended.0

Is this a change of mind return? It's not the retailer's you've waited this long in order to exercise your right to cancel.db86 said:Hi all

As above, you don't have a right to change of mind return.0

Yes they do .. it was an online purchase.Aylesbury_Duck said:As above, you don't have a right to change of mind return.
However they've missed their window of opportunity to invoke that right. Or have they? ... When was the flooring received? The 14 days doesn't start until the goods are received, and you only need to advise them of your intent to return the goods. You then have 14 days from advising them in which to actually return them.1 -
True. I had assumed the 14 days since delivery had already elapsed.DoaM said:

Any easy mistake to make based on how the OP is worded.

Received goods on March 7th. It says 14 days and not working days so I guess I'm out of time. Disappointed given the situation they aren't doing anything though. I've ordered from them multiple times in the past0

You received them on the 7th March? What exactly was delayed, restaurants were shut on March 20th, 13 days after. The ‘lockdown’ happened on March 23rd, 16 days after, when was your flooring fitter booked?0

I must admit I am becoming increasingly frustrated by the number of people who seem to expect every business to bend over backwards for them and are prepared to take no responsibility themselves.
OK, the current situation may have contributed or it may just be a convenient excuse, only the OP truly knows. However it is in no way the supplier's fault and in the current situation it is hard to blame them for sticking to the letter of the law.
