Yes Basketcase my dd and I have agreed that food is taking up much more of our thinking time than it did before. I think that it's because it's one of the few things we have any control over at the moment. Certainly OH and I are constantly talking about what and when we are having for the next meal. And going back to knitted swimsuits. It wasn't just the stretch when wet, it was that the sand stuck to them if you sat on the beach when they were wet. It was like wearing wet and dry sandpaper. All that clutter used to be money10

Whats porridge cheese sauce?
Yesterday I wanted some cheese sauce to cover a head of broccoli, but I didn't have any milk, so I hit on the idea of making up some porridge with oat milk in the microwave, and then I added herbs, pepper, garlic and grated cheese, and it worked!
I like coarse porridge oats, so the sauce was a bit grainy, but if I’d thought, I’d have used my hand blender to make it smoother. However, I quite liked the coarser texture!(I just lurve spiders!)

Ohh!!!! Count me in, please! I am so far behind, though - the thread is at over 60 posts and it's only been up two days!
@basketcase , you mentioned exercise. As well as going for a daily walk, I have a couple of apps on my phone/iPad that I've found very useful. Both are free. The first is seven minute total body workout called "7". It's high intensity interval training - 12 x 30 second exercises with rests in between - and, I have to confess, I skip the last two exercises. I'm just not strong enough to do them. (Also, I do the press-ups standing up against a wall.) I did this workout for the first time in 12 months on Tuesday and I'm still suffering.
The second is Yoga Studio. Their shortest workout is 10 minutes; longest is an hour. This morning, I did their 15 minute strength workout. I can feel it in my shoulders now, but I think this is the one I'll persevere with for now. You don't need much space - literally no more than a yoga mat occupies (2m x 1m) - and, if you have carpet on the floor, you won't need a yoga mat. I reckon that if I can build 15 minutes of exercise into my mornings now, then I'll be considerably stronger and healthier once Lockdown is over.

Thanks for this. Having dug out the instructions mine seems a bit vague about baking. There are a couple of recipes for flapjacks etc, but no mention of cake. So, a daft question - does that mean I couldn't bake a cake? Surely that can't be right...

And I’m sure this has been mentioned a thousand times, but we didn’t even have a full bath more than once a week! The rest of the time it was a top and tail in cold water or with a boiled kettle-full in the basin!

PipHi Pip!Thanks for the apps. They sound interesting. I'll take a look at them later.I've been meaning to dig out a couple of exercise DVDs I have. One's a (pretty old) aerobic type thing based on YMCA workouts. I like it because there are 2 sets of exercises which gradually get harder. Each set has 2 levels which run side by side so you can change up gradually as your fitness improves. The other's Pilates. Even though it's similar to yoga I find it easier for some reason. Possibly there's less emphasis on balance. for various reasons, mine isn't too good. I can't really make any of my standard excuses - but give me time and I'm sure I'll come up with something!A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
