Annual leave

I was supposed to be having an operation and so put 5 days annual leave in so I didnt take sick leave. My operation has been cancelled but work say I still need to take my annual leave which I do not want to do. I am a key worker for DWP. Should I be able to cancel my leave?

Not if your employer doesn't want you to.
I was going to say they can insist on you using your leave before furloughing you but I see that your employer is DWP so there is little chance of furlough1
