Stranded in Britain

Hi my husband and I got married 2 weeks ago and he  should have returned to the uae but his flight was cancelled.  I'm a stay at home mum and he is now without pay are we entitled to any help?

    For you certainly. For him it will depend on his visa type.
    You will not likely be able to claim any additional money to support him if he has no recourse to public funds. This is despite him being "stuck" in the UK.

    Can you explain your situation a little more please and his immigration status?

    If you have significant cash in the bank from a house sale you are unlikely to be entitled to universal credit. You can ignore capital that comes from the sale of a house, if it is to be used to buy a new one, but normally only for six months.

    Unfortunately, that isn't going to help your partner claim for UC. If the money you have from the sale of your house is more than £16,000 then you won't be able to claim Universal Credit at all.
