My husband been self employed 4 months so can’t claim self employed furlough. Is considered vulnerable due to asthma so can’t leave house to claim jobseekers. Savings above threshold for universal credit. Therefore we have no income at all. Can’t get through on any phone numbers for advice on what we might be able to claim. Anybody got any ideas what we may be entitled to?

Can you work? Supermarkets, delivery drivers and care companies are crying out for staff at the moment. Or can you live on your savings for a few weeks? You can fill in a nil income form at the council for help with council tax. If you rent, I believe that you can complete a nil income form for this as well (not sure if it is the same form or a different one).0

Not exactly going to start crying here you have savings above the threshold, we are going through a national crisis you can afford to live and pay your bills for the next 3 to 6 months. You do not need the government to give you a hand out.0
