Sky's Programme Reminder Function

The Sky Q boxes have dropped the use of the programme reminder function which as a Sky customer I really miss, as I dont necessarily need to record them.
I emailed Sky my complaint, and this was their reply:
Call me ignorant, but I thought the whole idea of a reminder is so that we can watch it in real time like you would a football match, or Snooker or something like that. Theres nothing worse than hearing a score line after the event right?
Plus if I record programmes I dont want to miss I just end up with a hard drive full of programmes I still got to find time to watch but I wanted to watch them live.
On our Sky Q box we have even had progranmes go missing, as if someone has deleted them, I spoke to Sky about this but they couldnt explain why that is happening.
Anyone else miss this reminder feature?

The option to set programme reminders isn't available with Sky Q as our research suggested that people preferred to record programmes so they could watch them at any time. As a result we made a decision to increase the number of recordings you can make concurrently with the Sky Q boxes.
- With the Sky Q 1TB box you can record three shows whilst watching another.
- With the Sky Q 2TB box you can record up to six shows whilst watching TV..

I miss it too and have the same problem - recorded programmes I want to watch but can't get round to watching!

Me too mate, it was a very useful function.unforeseen said:Yes. I used to use it quite often
It seems a backward step from Sky's point of view to remove it in my opinion.
If we record something it tends to un-prioritise the need to actually watch it, if that makes sense?
Especially things like sport events that you definetly need reminding of while your binge watching other things you have recorded. Think I explained the dilemma quite well there. And I havent even mentioned catch up tv yet.

Problem is ironically since we had the Sky Q box it seems to randomly auto delete things we have recorded and desperately didnt want to lose.0

If the hard drive is full, it will delete stuff to make new room. If you have room left, you can check deleted programs and 'undelete' them - have a dig into the menus, you'll find it fairly easily I'm surerenegadefm said:Problem is ironically since we had the Sky Q box it seems to randomly auto delete things we have recorded and desperately didnt want to lose.

I know but sometimes you just need a reminder somethings coming on, I dont necessarily need to keep it.flashg67 said:
