I don’t know if anyone can help with this and apologies if it’s in the wrong thread subject;
Mid-January I handed my notice in with work as end of May I was due to be moving to Canada on a 2 year working holiday visa and I thought it would be the ‘done thing’ to let work know in reasonable time, of my plans, so I gave them 5 months notice.
Since then, they have employed someone else who is being trained up so I can't retract my notice period and now it doesn’t look like Canada will be happening anytime soon, I know no one knows for certain but lets say for example I can’t get out there until September, where would that leave me with finances between May and September?
Work can’t furlough me after May as I won’t be employed by them anymore technically but I will still have bills to pay until I can get out to Canada. Can anyone help with any help I would be entitled to, assuming I can’t get out there at the end of May?
