Should I pay balance of holiday

Hi
I booked holiday in December for this September. The balance is due to be paid at the end of May. Should I pay this? Where do I stand if I don’t, will I loose what I have already paid and if I do and we can’t go (entirely possible at present) will the credit card company issue refund or would it be deemed reckless. Insurance co emailed to say we were not covered.
 thank you

We are booked for October and are currently still making the payments. We had budgeted to do so and would very much hope we can still go. If you don’t pay the balance you will lose what you have already paid as far as I’m aware
