Furlough Pay

Hi, can anyone help. When does furlough pay kick in, is it the day you go on furlough leave or 1st March as this is when gov are paying it from

  • Furlough pay kicks in the day you go on furlough, but the pay time itself is set by your employer - most will be paying you at the usual time, e.g. the last working day of the month or whatever your normal pay arrangements are.

It certainly should not be backdated to 1 March if you were working full-time after then so will be at the first day you are off work. If that has already happened then it will be back to whatever date that was as far back as March 1.
