Where to find a virtual pub quiz while you're stuck at home
Pubs might've closed across the UK, but if you're missing the quiz night at your local, there's a way you can get your pub trivia fix at home. 'Virtual' pub quizzes have started popping up online, and thousands are joining in - it's thought over 300,000 took part in one quiz, organised by a former pub landlord in Lancashire. Here's how to find one and keep your brain exercised during the evenings ahead.
Please could you add my virtual pub quiz to your list? It was picked up by the BBC News just last weekend and would really
appreciate if you could share it too. I am trying to make a real difference to
people’s lives in this unprecedented time by bringing a little fun and
entertainment to everyone. It started a few weeks ago
and has been very successful, we had over 1000 people involved in the last
event. It is totally free to play. It takes place every
Wednesday night at 8pm on Facebook live. It won't let me post a link but on facebook my page is called 'Virtual Pub Quiz Wednesdays' and the address is - www.facebook.com/adamspubquiz
I have hosted pub quizzes for
a number of years in various venues across London and Watford. Thank you, Adam Tungatt
The great pub quiz with Jay this evening (with a break for NHS clapping) was excellent and so far his just giving page (voluntary entry fee if you wish) was expecting 15k but was at 40k plus at the time of posting. Hats off to anyone though who is spending the time to create a quiz / entertainment to provide a diversion from all the bad news so please support every one's efforts!
Alexa has a free weekly pub quiz. Just say Alexa, play pub quiz and you get a landlord called Pete ask you 10 questions every week. sometimes you need to enable it on the amazon site: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HUGO-FM-Pub-Quiz/dp/B084FSSLF5
I played at The Quiz Inn yesterday! It was great fun, raising money for charity, and is streamed to Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer. They've built an app that allows users to compete against each other, with a chat too. They're every Sunday at 6pm, but I heard that they might add more days depending on demand. Here's the video from last night
