Furlough and Annual leave

Hi.
Can someone please give me some advice.
I am about to be furloughed. Told today. Off tomorrow.
I have already booked annual leave for w/c 13th April. Owing to all of this. I wont need annual leave so will this leave automatically be credited back to me? If it isn't - what happens?
As an aside are there any guidelines or legislation or procedures that a company MUST do in terms of their selection of people to furlough.
Thanks

No, they can insist that you take it. You can ask if it can be cancelled and credited, but that's up to them.

That's right. As far as we know the rules so far, if you have leave pre-booked then that means you will be on that leave during furlough unless your employer agrees to cancel it.

My understanding of the rules so far says that you must be paid at 100% pay for the time you are on holiday.
Ask for it to be cancelled but realise the reality of this situation means there will be a glut of people wanting their holidays at the end of the year and that might be unworkable for any employer.

To respond to your 2nd Q: Who goes on furlough versus who stays on working is a negotiation between the employer, employee and employment law.
