Money Moral Dilemma: Should I be shopping online during the coronavirus lockdown?

I understand the dilemma, but I support the ordering of non essential items within reason.
At this time of the year I always buy a load of plug plants and compost for my mum, who is 82 and has dementia, she loves potting them on in her greenhouse and looking after them all during the summer months. It's one of the activities that she can remember how to do and keeps her calm. So whilst I can't go visit my parents, dad is 84 and also on vulnerable list, I have ordered loads of plants and compost to be delivered to them. Its not essential, but it will keep them busy. I also hate to think of all those plants dying off because nobody ordered them!1 -
We absolutely have to do online shopping - the supply chains will fall over without consumers. The economy is going to be in a very bad state in any case. Stopping all shopping except food means some products would never reappear.1

If everyone follows the guidelines they will be safe, but I have read stories of couriers deliberately contaminating post/parcels in the US by licking them etc, so make sure to wear gloves and disinfect your hands after handling on both ends.
