Right you failed to supply meter readings so supplier estimated.
Do you have your opening meter readings + the last reading you gave .
If so do you know your tariff prices . Total to be paid can be worked out less amount actually paid .

Did you read the meter when you moved in?  Send monthly readings from now on.  Ask for a payment plan, or ask the Bank of Mum & Dad.  What is your E.On tariff name and pricing?  You won't be able leave E.On with a large debt, but in the meantime make sure you are on E.On's cheapest tariff.
If you are renting, move to somewhere with gas; electricity for heating is always extremely expensive.
Yes the meters were read when i moved in. Unfortunately bank  of mum and dad is not an option. Haven't even got a clue what my tariff name or pricing is, feel all a bit clueless at the moment. Just signed another years lease on the flat so stuck here until thats up. We got told when we moved in that our heaters are storage heaters so its cheaper? Was that true or? Im so confused.

You have learned a number of lessons the hard way here.
1 - Always read and submit your meter readings
2- Electric is by far and away the most expensive form of heating a home
3 - Always check you are on the cheapest tariff for your area.

£30 a month for an all electric flat was woefully inadequate as you have now found out, we use that in our house but we have gas heating which is much cheaper to run.

You will have to pay for the electric you have used so will need to set up a payment plan that not only covers what you are using now but also covers the debt that you have built up. Ideally you also need to build up some credit during the summer months so that you have some credit to use over the winter months so £180 might not even be enough to do this.

Take regular meter readings and submit them online at say monthly intervals. This will help you understand the energy you are using. We are coming into the warmer months now so your use will go down but you still need to be paying more to build up some winter credit.

You also need to learn more about how your system is set up and the most economical way of using it.
Ok thank you, its all confusing and as a first time renter and the firs time i've had to pay for my bills i definitely was not as prepared as i thought. Just confused why they charged me so little to begin with as it wasnt a one of they charged me that amount for half a year? I will try get in contact with eon.
They don't know how much or how little energy you will use. It was an estimate. The onus is on the customer to ensure that what they are paying covers what they are using, although to be fair you would have expected EON at some point to realise that what you were paying was not enough and adjust the payments sooner.

It is confusing at first as it isn't something that is taught to you but at least you have found out now and can learn from the mistake in the future. Trust me you are not the first and certainly won't be the last to find yourself in this situation.

On your bills or on your online account.

If you are on the standard variable rate you will be paying an extortionate rate and need to get onto the best deal EON can offer you ASAP.

Unfortunately you will be stuck with EON until the debt is paid back as they won't allow a switch to a cheaper supplier with that amount of debt.

EON seem to have put your direct debit at £180 which won't be enough to cover your debt and what you are using so you really need to think about raising that as well to get the debt cleared as quickly as possible.

You cannot heat an all electric flat for £25-30 a month as you have found out.
Regardless of where the original estimated DD came from (and a DD is only an estimate)  if you look at all those bills you will the word estimated against the reading and that the bottom line on the bill was a debit.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Think of energy payments like a food kitty in a shared flat.  Four could agree that everyone pays £1 a week.  One person buys all the food and put the receipts in a box with a slot.  Six months later the box is opened, the bills are added up and everyone realises that it wasn't All You Can Eat, the kitty is horrendously overdrawn, and that they owe a lot.
Just as students soon learn that it's cheaper to drop in to Aldi rather than have groceries dropped off in a Harrods van, you'll have to compare prices, read the meter(s) and do the sums based the annual cost derived from actual readings.

it states that my current tarrif is £1267 for 12 months, so how have they charged me £1500 for 8 months?

It does no such thing. It says the cost of each kWh and the daily standing charge will stay fixed for 12 months or whatever.  If you buy far more kWh than you said you would, then you will pay more in total.  It's not All You Can Eat, no-one offers that.

You should find out your tariff details.  Specifically whether or not you're on Economy 7 and how much your daily standing charge and kWh charges are.
