Furlough February ( Grey Area)

Hi folks
Apologies if this has already been covered.
I started a new job on 24th February but wasnt paid until March( 5 weeks wages paid)
Will this leave me as eligible for furlough as I was "on the payroll" by Feb 28th?
I've received my letter saying I'm on furlough and I've accepted it but not entirely sure they are going to hold up their end.
Any one else ?

Hoping so.Jeremy535897 said:It should do.
Unchartered territory for most companies but I dont want to find out at the last minute that I'm not eligible0 -
As long as you were paid for a period going back before 28th feb (or at least on the payroll before that) you should be fine. When you are paid doesn't matter. You've also received a letter so you should be doubly ok. Looks like it's was a close call though.0

I was really close. it was actually a last minute decision to change jobs a week early as I only done 3 weeks notice Instead of the 4 I planned on originally. If I stuck to 4, I would be getting nothing.
I'd like to think the government will step In and help the people that fall Into the gap0 -
Do we actually know this or assuming. With RTI, HMRC have up to date submissions showing exactly who is on the payroll at a given time. My daughter is in the same boat - started 25th Feb but missed Feb payroll cut off so first submission to HMRC is March. Does anyone know if the claim will be based on start dates or payroll process dates. If it's the latter, should her employer rollback her March pay and run her a Feb 28th one with a late submission to HMRC, then re-run March?anticlaus105 said:As long as you were paid for a period going back before 28th feb (or at least on the payroll before that) you should be fine. Yeah I'll be in the same boat. HMRC will you are employed by the company that last paid you. I phoned up to enquire about a company car and they still had me as being at my previous employer even though I left 2 weeks priordebwill said:

I don't think anyone can answer for sure but I'd suggest they intend to use the database as of the 28 Feb 2020, if you're on you're in.
Possibly they may have some manual process for some exemptions but there is nothing to suggest that yet.1 -
you should be able to ask your previous employer to re-employ you and furlough you. It cots them nothing and morally is the right thing to do. Unfortunately for my daughter she wasn't employed elsewhere as she left 6th form to start an apprenticeship. Am hoping they will back date her pay to her start date to get her on the system. Again, it seems the fair thing to do as she was actually employed by them in time.Awilliams1 said:
