Did the practice send the prescription direct to the pharmacy and you simply collected? Or did you collect the prescription and take it to the pharmacy? The former would mean you had no opportunity to correct the error (thus the above posters criticising you are being unfair) - the latter would mean you did. In the end though there's not really a lot you can do about it now.
  • If you really want to pursue it I would simply ask your pharmacist how you can go about getting a refund from the NHS.  Did it used to be called the Prescription Pricing Authority - I'm not sure?  I'm sure this happens quite regularly and I'd be surprised if your pharmacist can't advise you what to do.  Or I'm sure there must be something on the NHS site somewhere.

And yes - you really do need to check what's been dispensed each time.  Our pharmacy has a notice at the counter telling people to do this as they won't rectify errors after you leave.

Can you just let me know which antibiotic you take 8 times a day?  Curious.

Aw F.F.S send me your bank details and I will send you £9.

I will also require your GPs name and the practice so that I can send him a bottle of Scotch he probably needs it with the number dobbers he probably has to deal with at the moment.
Good to know that "dobbers" is not censored here. I think we still need to tread carefully (in plumbing-related discussions) with "stop !!!!!!".

My son was on phenoxymethylpenicillin. He had to take two tablets four times a day, so eight tablets daily.
