PCP - end of contract. Who is responsible for insurance?
Hi,
My car was due to be collected tomorrow but, due to the current situation, we have been told pick-up has been postponed indefinitely.
My car insurance also runs out tomorrow and we have been told by the finance company that it is our responsibility to renew the policy to ensure cover continues until the car is collected.
Does anyone know if this is right (if we no longer use the car)?
Should the insurance be at our expense?

What does your contract say?

If the car is in your possession then you have an absolute duty of care. If you can get the car of the road then do so, SORN it and reduce your premium this way. If you can;t do this then you are legally obliged to tax and insure it.
