Arcadia Group / Furlough Offer

My wife works for Arcadia group and like a lot of companys was temp laid of on the 20th March, she has been paid until the 4th April then after this we have to wait.

Arcadia are yet to say if they are taking the Furlough scheme and not providing their employees with any further updates.

Does anyone know why they wouldnt take the scheme or what might be causing the delay as from what Ive heard the scheme is a no brainer?

Regards

  • My understanding is that the Furlough scheme is for Employers who are in danger of making staff redundant due to the Corvid-19 infection, therefore they would not necessarily be looking at the Governments Job Retention Scheme, at this time if they intend to keep your wife employed. The Company are probably keeping an eye on the situation and will make decisions once they know how much longer the Pandemic may last. The scheme is a no brainer for Company's that are under severe financial constraint.

Are Acadia looking to get rid of staff recently? Some employers are using the excuse to reduce headcount but you are entitled to be paid your contractual terms in full or accept furlough or accept redundancy.

    • When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
    • "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere

They have to pay according to contract so assume you've been paid recently. Decision to furlough is with the employer.
