Electricity meter wronly registered on national database

I have pre payment meters via boost (originally OVO). They were installed 10 years ago when I rented the house out for 12 months, I've never switched them back. However I recently looked at switching to British gas (and 2 other energy companies) and off pre payment meters. During the search I was advised they couldn't proceed as my electricity meter was registered as a business meter, property has only ever been residential. I contacted boost who informed me it would have been OVOthat wrongly registered it. OVO/Boost don't offer business meters. They informed they sent a request on 11.2.20 to have the database updated. To date this has not happened and I still can't switch. Boost say they can't do anymore. Any advice how I can resolve the issue. Thanks

As I understand it, having had this problem in 2018 on a credit meter, it is only the active supplier who can fix it.  In my case, the property had been commercial, but converted back to domestic, and obviously nobody had tried to switch suppliers since that time.

If I remember correctly, there's more than one entry in the database that indicates "commercial".  So, although your meter may have a domestic MPAN, there's at least one "profile" parameter that still says it's commercial.  Only Boost can get this fixed.

Talldave thanks for your reply. I will try them again. I've read some old threads on OVO with similar issues where it was said to be linked to haow the first generation smart meters work, not sure if this is correct but will see what boost have to say again. Thanks
