Pensioners accessing Cash

Hi
I have been asked how pensioners can get access to cash during self isolation.  Volunteers are doing a great job getting their shopping for them, but some are running out of cash to give them
. Local shops are not set up to take card payments over the phone and obviously volunteers don't want to take their cards.  This is a tricky one.

  • I wonder how many pensioners nowadays don’t have a bank account where the money is paid into?  If they do have a bank account money can be transferred from their account into another account.  It would be easier of course, if they have only one or two people that they need to do this for, but hopefully if self isolating, they are not interacting with many people anyway. If it is a company that are sending people then have it sent to the company who could then pay the person getting the items.   There will be people who cannot do this obviously but some will.
