Furlough and JSA / UC

Hi,

I'm likely to be furlough'ed - a friend has suggested I should apply for universal credit and (new) Job Seekers Allowance...

Would this be appropriate? Or is he simply assuming I won't have a job in X weeks time?

Can I do another job while furloughed?

If you are furloughed on 80% pay you may not qualify for UC, but no harm in checking.
You can do another job if your contract of employment permits it. I would discuss it with your employer first.
