Job change during Coronavirus

I accepted a new job on 29th February and handed in 5 weeks notice at my current job which the contract of is due to finish on 3rd April and for me to begin a new contract and start a new job with my new employer from 6th April 2020. I will be on their books from the end of March however due to not being on their books from February 2020 I cannot be furloughed. Where do I stand and what do I do?

What is your new employer proposing - simply rescinding the job offer?

Potentially you could ask your existing employer to continue with your employment, but they may understandably be unwilling to do so.

If this leaves you without employment by either employer, consider an application for Universal Credit.
