I know the message was, that all the eligible business's would be contacted.
I checked my business rates online for my office using the governments own website , I have rented my office for the past few years.
But it does not mention anything about me having any kind of relief on my yearly rates on the governments website.
My rates are paid in as part of my monthly rent, I do receive a business rates bill in my name every year, that is just passed on to the office building owners and they pay it in full.
Current rateable value is £1625 per year, it is a 14 sq meter office.
I run a small online business from the office.
Is it worth calling the business rates office at my local council?
Help and advice please.

Do you get small business rate relief? The criteria for the grant is:
You are eligible if:
- your business is based in England
- you are a business that occupies property
- you are receiving small business rate relief or rural rate relief as of 11 March
Your local authority will be in touch if you're eligible. I imagine the business rates office might be rather busy at the moment, so you could contact them if you really want to but you can also just wait for them to contact you.
Lawyer in training, but I am not legally qualified yet.1 -
I'd check the relevant council website for info, as most are updating constantly. Many will be WFH so there may be email contacts on the web for questions0

You can apply retroactively (at least until 2017) for SBRR and they should refund you however much was paid and you should then be eligible for the grant. You should then reduce the amount from your rent payments from now on.0
