Balance due for Cruise in July / Renewal of annual insurance

I booked a cruise to the Baltic last September for the family and the balance is to be paid on 12th April (about £7K). I've read the posts and understand the advice is to pay the balance. I have specialist medical insurance which I purchase annually, It will renew in 22 April. Will this be classed as a new policy which might not cover Coronavirus? I'm concerned that if things continue into July my travel insurance wont cover?

Continuous cover should apply, so existing bookings that were made before Coronavirus became a pandemic (such as yours booked last September) should continue to be covered however, new bookings would not benefit as it is now a known risk.
I have an annual policy and received a message some weeks ago confirming that fact.
Just make sure that when it comes to paying for the next 12 months cover that the policy is treated as a renewal and not a new one.
