Hi i am entitled to self employed grant. But wondering am i allowed to claim ESA also for 2 weeks becuase i am self isolating? I have paid enough NI contributions. Would claiming the ESA impact my ability to get the grant? I wouldnt want to do this unless completely certain as the grant is 2.5k per month and the ESA less than 100 a week

ESA should not have any effect on the self employed grant.0

Yes you can and it will not impact the grant.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

My son was self-employed for the 3 qualifying years. At the end of last year, he became a director in his business. This was set up after the qualifying years. He thinks he won't be able to get help because of this. Is he right0

I am afraid that he is, although if there is no work for his company, and he is paid a salary by his company on a HMRC registered payroll, he might be able to furlough himself under the job retention scheme.0
