Work and pay

Hi, I was sent home at 4pm 24/3/2020 with an email saying they would be pay me until 31/3/2020 and it will be reviewed (looking into furlough). Couple of days later we receive an email saying that from when they sent us home till the 31st we would owe them 35 hours each to cover that pay and had to make the hours up some how. Today I had to go in and ‘clean’ for 5 hours to deduct from what I ‘owe’.? As it stands I still ‘owe’ them around 30 hours, had no communication as to pay from 1st April onwards and am expected to go in again tomorrow for more cleaning. Can they do this and say I still owe hours even though they sent me home?

Thanks
