Win My Gratitude

Options
Now first up, apologies for the cheekiness of this but it's worth a try. :)

I understand alot of people do regular daily comps. Now if any of you have the time do you mind doing me a little favour? It will take no more than a minute of your day and you'll be helping a Martin Lewis approved campaign! ;)

Basically there is a charity called the CCCS who help people in debt for free. Other companies are trying to profit from peoples misfortunes by paying for advertising on Google and Yahoo when people search for them. By clicking these leaches' sponsored links you will cost them money and eventually they will disappear off the search engines!

Thats all it takes. :) It's explained more in depth here but if you could add this to your daily tasks it will make a massive difference to peoples lives. :D

Thank you all and be lucky!

Oh, and you go to search engines, look up cccs and click on the sponsored links, apparently :)

I understand why you're saying this, but isn't there a risk that these dodgy companies would think "We're getting thousands of hits from advertising on google, let's keep doing it!"? Obviously we're not going to be taking up their service, but they might think that because more people are visiting the site, that the advertising is paying off?

If I understand it correctly, the "idea" is to use up C-C-C-C's marketing budget so as its adclicks aren't seen by people who might be looking for the genuine CCCS charity.

I can's see C-C-C-C today on google so it must have worked, but its still on Yahoo.

Tomorrow is a new month so their marketing budget will be back to pushing themselves to the forefront of people searching for help managing their debt.

Thats the way I read it Mpython, They'll think they are getting the hits, but will not be getting anything from them ~ add money wasted ~ with some luck ~ they pay so much per hit ~ only pence, but when its a few thousand aday for a week or two it will mount up nicely.

I'm up for this, can't hurt to have a couple more pages open in my daily comps bookmark folder! :) Cunning little bottom feeders!

Any chance of a list of which names to search though southernscouser? I'm not really au fait with debt companies & wouldn't want to miss any of the 'pretender' companies with their juicy sponsored links!

I'm also guessing that it would be handy to hit their advertising budgets for Google & Yahoo too - any other search engines?

    Thanks for any info! :)
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out
