Self Employed

Hiya,

I am very overwhelmed with all the information about self employed benefits Whilst not being able to work.
Have a few queries if anyone is able to help me please??

I have been employed & self employed for 2017,2018 and part of 2019, went full time self employed employed in 2019. I am not 100% sure if I am actually entitled to anything to help me with living costs at the moment?

If I sign up to Universal Credits - do I have to pay this back, I am very confused with everything.

Any help will be appreciated, thank you in advance

You need to work out whether the self employment income provided the majority of you income or if that was PAYE. Take it tax year by tax year to start with.

You should also check if you are eligible for UC (I assume you don't get tax credits). If you are, claim. UC does not become repayable if you get a small business grant, but it may reduce the UC claim to nil for a period. That will close your UC claim: reapply immediately.
