Advice on pay

  • I dare say you won't be alone in this. Some companies will no doubt be trying to get away with paying the minimum (sometimes through lack of knowledge and sometimes through unscrupulous behaviour). But the reality is that right now you can't force your husbands company to pay you correct, you can only ask for it and explain the legalities behind it. Later on when this is all clear, I'm sure there will be court case after court case with people in the same position as you trying to get money back they are owed. Sorry I can't really help, but on his pay slip, what does his basic pay say? That might give you an indication as to why his boss says £80 a day?
His payslip never says basic pay it always just says 1 then the amount of pay.

thing is if this goes on longer than the 3 weeks we will loose everything apart from our home, I have managed to freeze the mortgage payment but as his boss said last week we would be paid practically normal wage I only did this yesterday so too late for this months payment.

(by everything I mean car, van and caravan)

This is the bit you need to dig into. What does his contract say? Impossible for a random stranger on the internet looking at it to give you 100% correct advise really. Perhaps it looks like his basic is £500 a week and he makes the rest in overtime. I don't know though.
As for the losing everything, get in contact with all the creditors and explain the situation. There are literally millions of people in the UK alone that will be in the same position as you. Try not to worry as I'm sure grace will be given.
