Furlough dates

Received a call this morning to say I’m now on unpaid leave (not furlough) as I started after the 28th feb. Bearing in mind the 29th&1st was the weekend. Would there be any understanding from the government on this as now I won’t receive anything until I’m allowed to work again.
It is more beneficial to have the virus at this point as at least I would receive sspay. Not that I would want to affect others.

Current guidance doesn't allow for furlough.
However many MPs are responding to this issue saying there may be some movement and further guidance may forthcoming so keep an eye open for that. However the scheme is at your employers discretion so the decision always rests with them.0 -
If needed look at eligibility for Universal Credit https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/.
There are online calculators to help you assess entitlement https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators
Be aware that claiming UC will end any Tax Credits, Housing Benefit or other means tested benefits you currently get. If you are getting these try and check your entitlement before deciding whether to claim UC.
You will be excluded from UC if you have savings over £16,000.
You may also be able to claim Council Tax Reduction from your local council
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
