Am I entitled to furlough

I started work on the 16th March. Then due to the shut down of production because of covid-19 I was laid off on full pay for a week. I have now had an email stating I am on furlough as of the 27th March which will be calculated on February payroll?? I was not on the payroll system then so I don't understand how much I'll get , if anything at all. I have tried to speak to my employer but all I've had is , I'll get back to you when I know more. Can anyone shed some light on this matter for me please?

You’re currently not eligible for any government furlough from that company as you weren’t on the payroll on Feb 28th0
