Self employed AND employed....

Here goes...I have been a self-employed teacher for 3 years (25 hours a week contract with council), as well as a casual 1-1 tutor at an Academy for 3 years (10 hours a week on a casual contract, paid through PAYE). The majority of my income came from self-employment, until this January, when the contract ended. Until another comes along, I am supply teaching via PAYE. When the Academy closed, they have agreed to keep paying my casual hours. The supply agency are also requesting furlough for me. However, I also meet the criteria for self-employed support. My question is: am I entitled to all support, or do I have to choose if I am self-employed or employed and take one support route? Overall, the package would be around 1500 pcm, so it’s within the 2.5k threshold.

I take it you have read the details of the self employment grant so I will not go into its details. Remember though that you have to have to intend to continue trading as self employed in 2020/21. There is nothing I am aware of that stops you being furloughed by whoever employed you at 28 February 2020, and also getting the self employed grant, and if they produced more than £2,500 a month for you, lucky you.0
