Non refundable hotel and car park

We are due to go to Cyprus at the end of next month with easyJet. Given that the airlines entire fleet is grounded and the Cypriot government have said there will be no tourism from the U.K. until at least may, we are starting the process of cancelling everything.

My question is around the hotel that we booked for the night before our flight along with the parking and access to the lounge. The booking states that it is non refundable, but given that the hotel will be closed and the flights cancelled surely we can’t be held responsible for the cancellation so is there any recourse for us to get our money refunded?

If the hotel cancels your booking you can claim a refund.  Ancillary services like the lounge and car park would presumably still be available, so you'd need to look to your insurer to recover those costs.
  • Update on this, today I received an email from purpleparking officially cancelling our bookings and offering a full refund in the form of a voucher to be used later.

this is not what we were after however so now my question is, if I refuse the voucher would I be within my rights to request a refund instead or to claim it on the insurance, or would the fact that they have offered it mean that I lose other rights?
