Employed in February, Self Employed in March

I was with my previous employer past the February 28th date that is being mentioned along with Furlough, and began sub-contracting to them as a sole trader in the 2nd week of March. The company has placed majority of staff on furlough, I myself have been told to stay at home as their is no work. Am I at all entitled to request Furlough from them due to being on PAYE at the above stated date? or is my now self employed status wave any rights to furlough?

You would have to ask them to rehire you. The trouble with that is that if you are still doing the same work for them as a sub-contractor (which raises a question as to whether this really is self employment), why would they?
