ESA assessment and CV

Hello,

After an annoying start and wrong info my husband was correctly backdated ESA so has technically been on it since summer 19. I think in jan I rang and asked why he hasnt had an assessment yet and they said it was a mix up their end so they sent out the paper assessment. We seng this in ages ago, maybe ?7/8 weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

I do not mean to sound money grabbing but life is a struggle and we get a little bit of UC too. If they put him un the support group am I right in thinking our UC would increase and so would our ESA? If this is the case because of coronavirus does it just mean us struggling still until another 3 months where they might then give us the increase after an assessment and then another wait or will they make an assessment based on his paper one?

Sorry if this is a bit of waffle. I know it will be backdated but doesnt help in the here and now.

If he's placed into the Support Group his ESA  will increase and he will receive the LCWRA element of UC but of course his ESA will still be deducted in full from your UC amount.

All face to face assessments have been suspended for at least 3 months. They will either do a paper assessment, a telephone assessment or they will wait for the face to face assessments to start back again. To be honest 7/8 weeks of waiting since sending the form back really isn't that long. Some are waiting a lot longer than that.

He could ring the health assessment advisory service to ask. Number is here https://www.chdauk.co.uk/
