Ask if the banks etc will accept a certified copy through the Post Office

£12.75 for 3 documents - you need to find a photocopier to copy them too (and the libraries are all closed, but some corner shops still have photocopiers) if you don't have your own scanner/printer.

The banks are very prompt at returning death certs. So just deal with one at a time, making sure to keep the other safe at home!
I know this won't happen now obviously, but I posted one off on a Tuesday & it was back on Thursday.  Maybe they worry about losing them so want them off their premises as quickly as possible.

    I agree with this.

How quickly do you need to do things?
When my mother died I bought several certificates when I registered the death but some of them were never used because I didn't work very fast and the ones I used were returned so quickly. I think I could have managed easily with 2.

Yes, this is what I found when Mum died.
    It's not difficult!

When my husband was finally able to register his father's death last Thursday (he passed away the previous Thursday, not from Coronavirus), the Registrar was only allowed to issue 3 certificates.  One will be going to the solicitor.  We will only deal with one institution at a time, sending the certificate and awaiting its return before dealing with the next one.  Fortunately for us, FIL was extremely organised and only had one bank account and one credit card.
