Hi all, I hope everyone is well in this difficult time.
-I have a car lease which I'm not going to be able to afford in the current situation.
-I've followed Mercedes process (email them) and they are due to come back to me. It's been 7 days and I've been told can take 10 days.
-My payment is due to leave my account on 1st and I'm unsure what to do. I believe they are offering payment holidays but I probably won't have an answer by the time payment comes out. Do I just cancel the payment my end?
-Secondly - I know this scenario we're in is unprecedented but my career is understandably taking a pause and I appreciate I'm one of the lucky ones getting 80% for now - however I still can't afford to keep this car. In the sales job I'm in, even if things go back to normal I won't be up and running with commission etc for quite some time. I mention this as it's a big part of why I took the job, to be able to fund things like my car. (there's a backstory which is too complex to get into here)
-It has 7 months left of a 24 month contract. Their normal wording is that you basically have to pay it all regardless, but is this likely to be different given the economic circumstances we're now in?
