EON smart meter glitch

We've had our smart meter for dual fuel EON for getting on for a year and everything has worked consistently and well with nothing out of expectations. This morning It is showing over red with £999999 for the day so far... not bad going since its only 6.39 am (our usual usage is about £1.50 per day). Its showing only the gas icon rather than both and gas kWh usage for the week as 16755
I'm assuming it has to be something to do with the clocks changing and EON will sort it out.
Any ideas or advice? Anyone had this happen to them before too?
Thanks

That isn't the smart meter, that is your In Home Device (IHD) I would go take a look at the meters and see what they are currently showing as your total consumption and check that against your last bill...

As MWT says, your smart meter is what is physically connected to your incoming gas or electricity supply and is what you should read to get an accurate reading of your consumption and they send the data back to the supplier.
The unit in your photo is the IHD (In Home Device) which is supposed you give you the same info as the meter but doesn't always and might either calculate your costs (assuming that it's got the right algorithm & data) or reflect back the cost from the supplier - but again it doesn't always so don't trust it. It does not send info back it's just an aid to help you understand what is going on but it cannot be relied on to produce accurate data.
Although that said, some will allow you to remotely read the meter display (but do check that it's doing it properly by comparing the meter reading with what the IHD displays)
For accurate info read the actual meter not the IHDNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
Thank you both, mind put at rest1

ThanksHello jusferbrowsing and this is something we know about.Don't worry, as MWT and matelodave says, it only affects the In Home Display (IHD) and not the meter. We'll still be receiving readings automatically to make sure our bills are accurate. We're working to sort the issue out so you'll be able to use the IHD as before. In some cases, not all, the IHD makes a beeping noise. If yours is doing this, the noise can be stopped by turning off the budget alarm. To do this, please press OK; use the arrow keys to scroll through the information until reaching Settings (OK) - choose OK to select this screen; scroll again until reaching budget alert and press OK; use the arrow key to select OFF; then choose OK and go back to the home screen. Not sure when this will be sorted. When it is, we'll send a remote message to put things right.Hope this helps jusferbrowsing.Malc

your gas usage looks a little high - have you tried turning various appliance off and on to see which may be the culprit?

@rawhammered We turned the gas supply off then on again to see if that does the trick0
