Unfair ppi

Hello I am mac0329 I would like to ask I have been with the same bank for my mortgage for 19 years and have always paid payment protection insurance on my mortgage  I have never missed a payment or nothing but due to the recent world events I have been laid off from work last week as of now I am unsure were I stand so I phoned the bank who take my insurance premiums to and they said I would have to phone cardif pinnacle who the insurance is with to claim but when I phone them they say I can't claim as I am not out looking for work or seeking job seekers allowance and am not unemployed I try to explain the prime minister doesn't want me to leave the house but there not interested isn't this mis sold ppi is all about please help anyone mac0329

    You do not need to leave the house to sign on.  Do it online.

    No.  The need to sign on is both common sense and accepted by the regulator and ombudsman as a sensible and fair requirement.
