Hi I'm looking for help filling in my universal Credit application. I'm a self employed electrician with zero income at the moment. a small amount of savings to see me through for a while but i'm applying for UC. I'm at the point where i have to confirm previous earnings for the previous year on a month to month basis. just wanted to know what figure they would be looking for for i.e. JAN 2019 not the actual figure obviously but how to arrive at it as I don't have a wage slip to just copy it from.
Any help may save my sanity.

I have put in an application and been verified for SE. However I'm receiving emails from UC saying there is a comment and I have to access my journal. I can log in but its asking for a PSN, which I don't have... Cant call as the number given is accepting calls. Totally frustrating as i cant contact anyone and I'm worried that my claim will expire if I don't reply.
Any suggestions??

When you made your claim did you not set a PSN up?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Your earnings for UC purposes are the difference between the business income you received and the business expenditure incurred within the month calculated on a cash accounting basis.Mikew69 said:Hi I'm looking for help filling in my universal Credit application. Since we have switched to appointments by phone (instead of face to face), we have stopped issuing PSNs.JobCentre work coach. My comments are my own personal private opinion and NOT official DWP advice/policy.0

I’m a small business owner, self-employed, but with a premises (Guest House) shut down following government advice. I was going to claim for UC to try and at least pay the food bills for me and my little lad but someone has suggested this would affect my WTC payments?? Can anyone please help/advise as to whether I should cancel plans to claim for UC? 🤨

Can anyone please help/advise as to whether I should cancel plans to claim for UC?If you claim UC that will automatically stop your Tax Credits as soon as you submit the UC claim (even if it turns out you are not entitled to UC). Do not claim UC without making sure you have looked at how they compare.
There are online calculators to help you assess entitlement https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators

My payment of £552per month is both Child Tax Credit and Working Tax credit so I don’t know whether the latter is more beneficial to me than the £94 per week UC?😶calcotti said:big_gus said: I was going to claim for UC to try and at least pay the food bills for me and my little lad but someone has suggested this would affect my WTC payments?? I guess, more importantly, once the world is back up and running will this prevent me earning WTC if my UC claim goes through?
