Barclaycard Application Accepted?

I applied for a Barclaycard and was asked to produce 3 forms of identity. I posted these to Barclaycard a week ago and telephoned them this morning to see when the documents would be returned. I was informed that they had been received and the application was pending due to a back log of work.

Does anyone know if this means that my application has been accepted as I was under the impression that it was but the telephone rep' couldn't advise me one way or another.

It sounds to me that they want the Identification stuff simply to verify you are who you say you are. I had the same thing at the Halifax, I was told when I provided identification I had been accepted provisionally but they needed extra information to clarify I was who I said I was and what my income was.
