Bilious Vomiting Syndrome

Our old Lab has this.
We feed him little and often, and he's been on different types of meds and food but nothing is working.
During the day he is fine, but every night, after he's been asleep for a few hours, between midnight and 3am he starts making a vomiting noise and brings up clear/yellow bile.
Has any other dog owner had this issue?
Any solutions?
Cheers.

I'm sorry your lad is going through this. I can't offer any advice but didn't want to 'read and run'.
    It's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
    'Wonder' - to feel curious.

One of my dogs used to do this at mid day. I solved it by giving her a slice of dry toast at breakfast time.

Our dog has it although he is not on any medication for it.

We give him four small meals a day so that he always has something in his stomach.

One meal in the morning at about 6.30am, one at dinnertime at about 12.30pm, one at teatime at about 6.30pm and then a small portion for supper at about 10pm which is usually enough to see him though until we get up at 6am.

We feed him a low fat kibble which is gentle on his stomach combined with low fat healthy treats. He loves red and yellow bell peppers and brocolli!
  • Hi, I know this is an old post but I was searching around for answers so maybe I can make someone's life easier :) For my pooch it worked boiled chicken and rice diet. Half an hour before his morning meal I gave him an omeprazole tablet for 10 days.
  • My dog has this occasionaly. It's usually happens in the summer months - if too hot he will not eat which in turn results in the hunger pukes, it's a vicious cycle until he gets his appetite back
