AA Silver travel insurance

Good morning all,
We had a number of holiday's booked this year and so when coronavirus reached pandemic status, we followed the advice on this website re. coronavirus insurance cover and took out a policy with AA Silver travel insurance. We booked this on Thursday 12th March.
We have just received an email from AA saying the following:
'Your AA annual multi-trip travel insurance policy has an exclusion which prevents you for claiming for any circumstances known before purchasing a policy or booking a trip which may cause a claim. This now includes Coronavirus, so we want to let you know about the areas of your policy that are affected'
We are now not fully sure where we stand with regards to this - I'm sure the advice on here would have been valid so are we still covered? I'm not sure if anyone else on here would've received the same email.
Thanks in advance!

Covid was a "known event" when you took out the cover , it's excluded.
For valid cover you should have bought insurance when you originally booked the holidays ( as is martins standard advice )Ex forum ambassador

Thanks for the reply, although it goes against what I found on their website when I dug a little deeper:
Any new policy purchased, or new trip booked covered by an existing annual multi trip policy after 3pm, 13th March 2020, will not cover any cancellation claim in relation to Coronavirus, including but not limited to, cancellation due to your diagnosis of Coronavirus, FCO advice or flights being cancelled.
As we booked the insurance on the 12th (and the trips well before that) I presume we are covered...
