Furlough and then possible redundancy

A few of us have been furloughed in our company until June, and there is a chance our department may be shut down altogether thereafter. The company hasn't said so in so many words, but we haven't been very busy for the last few months anyway and its mostly people in that division that are on furlough.
What happens in this instance, do you get a notice period after the furlough period is up? Do you have some sort of consultation, can they make you redundant while on furlough?

They can make you redundant whenever they want. You will still be due the normal notice period. redundancy pay. They should have some consultation with you.

One thing to note at present is the government's furlough scheme only applies for the months of March, April and May. The Chancellor has indicated it may be reviewed in May so may cover June and beyond but at the moment that's an unknown.1
