I have just passed my driving test & was considering looking for insurance to drive my B/F car along with him but wasn't sure what the best way to go about this. Could anyone offer any advice please on what I should look for in an insurance quote & things?
I am over 25 so would me taking the Pass Plus actually be an advantage to me or not.
Please help
Thank you

Congrats on passing your test - I can only comment for Norwich Union Direct but although the Pass Plus discount can be enormous for younger drivers, it only applies if the policy is actually in your name (i.e. you are the policyholder). However, provided you have held your provisional licence since you were about 20, the pass plus discount will be negated by the introductory discount you will receive on a comprehensive policy (this sounds strange but with NUD you would be far cheaper with a comp policy as opposed to TPFT - that's just the way it works). If your boyfriend owns the car though, you are going to have to insure it in his name, but again with NUD you actually get a further discount for adding your domestic partner/spouse. Not sure if this is a lot of help though...0

if your boyfriend is already insured for the car then you don't need to look for a policy, just ask him to add you to his.0

My take is that she wants to build up her NCD on his car which I assume is fully comp under him. Had a friend in the same predicament but dont know how it turned out.My views are irrelevant - censorship is alive & well!0
