                    I’ve recently changed jobs after working for my last employer for 10 years on PAYE. My old job finished on the 13/3/20 and my new one started on16/3/20.... but apparently my new employer said I don’t qualify for the 80% furlough as I wasn’t on their payroll on the28/2/20

            That’s correct. You are not eligible to be furloughed.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

            They are correct, all you can do is to look to see what benefits you may be entitled to in the meantime.

            If your old employer is in shut down, get back in contact with them and beg to be put back on their books. They can then furlough you and apply for the 80% of your salary. It costs them nothing and is what Martin is recommending people do.
