Ryanair and BMI Credit Cards - Free flight info?

Hi,

Just found out that Ryanair are offering a free return flight when signing up to their VISA card, and BMI are offering 20000 free flight miles (equivanlent to a european return flight) when you sign up to their Mastercard. Has anyone taken up either of these offers and are there any catches other than the fact that you still have to pay the airport taxes?

Cheers in advance,
Bal.

I would say check what the tax and charges are beforehand and then see if you still think its a good offer.
eg For myself I have been checking cheap flights from Manchester or Liverpool to Amsterdam
KLM have a return seat for £20 on the date I want to travel but tax and charges of £49!! make a total cost of £69.
Easy jet from Liverpool have two single journey seats totalling £31 but their taxes are only £14 combined giving total cost of £45.
Personally I would not sign up to a credit card for an offer like this but if you think its worth it go for it.

As a frequent Ryanair flyer I never pay more than £1 each way for my flights (plus tax), so therefore their credit card isn't worth while! Having said that I'm not normally too fussy on my destination so pick the cheapest flights going. If you have your eyes on one of the destinations where they normally charge a premium then go for it, but if you just fancy a couple cheap flights to somewhere you've never been you may as well pay the normal price on their website.
