Grass Killer

Options
Hi. I'm looking for something that will kill grass in addition to weeds. Is something like that readily available?

Any glyphosate weedkiller will do the job. As with any weed, grass may need to be sprayed a couple of time a few days/weeks apart.

Burn it! Burn it with fire!

More seriously, what do you want to do with it afterwards? Kill it before relaying a lawn? Create a veg patch so you can "dig for victory".
  • I have grass growing through concrete gaps and slabs. Want it gone and to not come back anytime soon. On a similar note, the edges of my garden have soil and I'm thinking of concreting it over. Is that an expensive job?

Depending on the area, a bulk bag of ballast (sand & gravel mix), about £45. Four bags of cement, £5 each. An afternoon to dig out the soil, and mix up the concrete, job done.

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘Greenfingered’ board, where it is better suited.

    Regards

Matter of opinion. Concreting over a garden is hardly gardening or in any way 'greenfingered,' but thanks for the laugh; some will need it just now! :)

Its known as hard landscaping. You'll find it in an awful lot of gardens.
    Besides, it's his garden.

I wasn't questioning whose garden it was, just the notion that a question about concrete mixing is more appropriate here than in the DIY section of the site, which is called 'In My Home.'
