Hole in floor after boiler removal ..

Howdy ! On Monday , old boiler in spare bedroom was removed. However, there is a fair gap in the wooden flooring by skirting board and window . What's the best way to fix? It is draughty a there since boiler removal. As a stop gap solution , I have a thick piece of wood covering it and am thinking of putting my sideboard…

Depending on the age of them, the floorboards may be a different width and thickness to the stuff you would get at B&Q or similar places. If you have a builder you trust it may be worth asking him to do the work. They may charge 1/2 day labour or may fit it in at the end of a day and just charge a few quid. You'll only find out by asking.
