SSP or Furlough?

I am 22 years old, in full time work living with Dad at home who is a vulnerable person with cancer. I have been sent home from work due to having a vulnerable person at home, unable to work from home as I have no suitable laptop, and told to get SSP? I am not unwell and neither is anyone else in the household - thank goodness. Is this correct that I should get SSP? How do I get a sick note if the doctors is closed and I am not unwell anyway?
Shouldn't i get furloughed? I am unable to work in the office - which is still open as it is in the construction business - due to shielding my dad.
Should i get SSP - if so how do i get it? or should i be furloughed which is up to my employer?
Thanks in advance folks

Most Drs surgeries will deal with these queries online... on the face of it you won’t be eligible for the furlough scheme because they are not making your role redundant due to the work not being available. It is but they cannot facilitate it from home which would have been their first choice I’m sure. Therefore SSP will have to be the route to go down1
