You want to get hold of the vegetarian student nosh cookbook, costs a few quid on eBay.
Add your meat and get quite good meals, potentially freezing a portion for another day.
Made with everyday items from the kitchen, measurements are by cup rather than scales.
It has starters, mains, puddings and I can highly recommend a lot of the recipes.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

@supersaver1000 I picked up plastic ones from a pound shop, I'm sure supermarkets have cheaper ones too.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3

When I was first married and couldn’t even afford kitchen scales, I used one of these to measure ingredients. Brilliant and surprisingly accurate.

I've got stainless steel spoon and cup measures. I prefer them to plastic because the plastic ones don't seem to last very long and get stained measuring things like turmeric! Can't remember where I got them but they weren't very expensive and I've had them for several years now and still look like new. The cup measures are a set of 4 from 1/4 cup up to 1 cup.

Think my stainless steel cups and spoon measures were from Lakeland - years ago. They're not the cheapest, but they last for ever. I also own their set of six double sided round cutters in a tin - from large to small, one side plain, one crinkly. It sounds as if I'm doing their marketing, but I'm not, honest! I'm a believer in buying the best you can afford at the time, and not needing to buy again.2021 - mission declutter and clean - 0/20215

I've also got the double sided cutters but mine are plastic and in a plastic box rather than a tin. Also had those for years. Think mine came from Lakeland when they used to be called Lakeland Plastics! Tells you how long I've had them, LOL.

I keep forgetting to come back to this thread as i always need inspiration for meals and desserts...but not ones with a million ingredients that end up costing a fortune 😋
This week i have got a mary berry recipe to try for a chocolate orange cake (oh loves chocolate orange) so far i made 2 cakes in 2 days this week as my chocolate one i made got eaten so quickly i have been making half portions with the first one in case no one likes the cake.
I have measuring spoons i won on a raffle the first week i went to SW...i dont think they were meant to be for helping make cakes!!
Anyway this is the recipe i made on Sunday and went down so well...
